Lessons of the Inca Shamans: Piercing the Veil

Deborah Bryon describes her experiences through the first four years of lessons and initiations she received from Inca shamans in Peru. The central teachings the shamans now wish to pass on to Western culture include the interconnectedness of all creatures (ordinary and spiritual) and our connection with Pachamama (Mother Earth).

The book contains Dr. Bryon's personal journey. Her struggles to live in both the ordinary reality of a day job and the non-ordinary reality of a quest for shamanic understanding are described with clarity, insight, and appropriate amounts of self-deprecating humor. Along with her story, she analyzes her quest in the context of Jungian theory and, at the same time, explains how her journey includes aspects beyond the usual boundaries of Jungian thought.

Astrological Almanac for 2015

The Astrological Almanac is complete with tips on each of the zodiac signs; this book allows you to time your activities to your best advantage. No need to search for information, this book lists everything from A (Acquisitions) to Y (Yoga) that lets you know when to plan anything, such as a hair cut, beauty treatment, major surgery, or traveling. When you want to know the best time to do anything, merely consult the Astrological Almanac that lists the events of modern life. Everyone can benefit with this Astrological Almanac. It can be used by people in all age brackets, of both sexes, professionals and nonprofessionals, and from all walks of life. There is something for everyone in this book: a complete Sun sign synopsis as well as information to determine the best time to undertake or fulfill any venture. Why is this book unique? A general Sun sign book does not give the information contained in this Astrological Almanac, especially as provided in Part One--Sun signs; your color, gem, stone, number, day, city, state, country, healthful herb teas for the zone of the body ruled by your sign, cell salts, books, music, fashion ruled by your sign, the kinds of flowers, gifts and perfumes for each sign, and compatibility (or how you get along sexually with everyone--all zodiac signs), the best days for sex, and your forecast for the year. Another unique feature is the Best Days Guide for Daily Activities (Part Two), which gives dates to enable you to determine the right time to do whatever you wish in order to obtain the best results and quickest action possible. Thus, you can consult this Astrological Almanac to apply to your daily life (there are 500 categories), enabling you to make advance plans concerning a specific activity or venture. For instance, what is a good date to start a legal action? Open a business? Advertise? Get hired for a job? Give a party? Go on a diet? Go on a trip? Have your hair cut? Have dental work? Have surgery? Plant crops? Can food? Have you ever wondered why a restaurant opened and folded, even though the food was tasty, the decor charming, and the service good? Because it was opened, astrologically, at the wrong time. "Everything in life is in the timing" is a well-known adage that has been expressed over and over by millions of people. In this Astrological Almanac, you will be able to determine when to do something to attain the most propitious results. To use this information, you do not need your horoscope, nor do you need to know your Sun sign. Just look for the activity you are interested in (they are listed alphabetically), find the favorable dates to take action throughout the year, and plan accordingly. This applies to everyone regardless of your Sun sign.

A Wonderfully Personal Introduction to Shamanism, August 30, 2012
This review is from: Lessons of the Inca Shamans: Piercing the Veil (Paperback)
In “Lessons of the Inca Shamans” Deborah Bryon – an artist, psychologist, and Jungian Analyst, takes us on a rich journey into her experience as she began her immersion into the world of Q’ero shaman of Peru. She not only recreates the chronology of events but also the emotional, cognitive and intuitive responses to those events. She helps us see the matrix of influence stemming from her shamanistic explorations which ripples out into all facets of her life – her marriage, her professional development, the lives of her children, and her art. Along the way Bryon intermixes suggestions and exercises for the reader to engage in – thereby creating their own experience of some of the ideas she is describing. These exercises help the reader to see how we can utilize aspects of the shamanistic practices and worldview to begin transforming our relationship to the world around us. Overall, the reader comes away with a rich, first hand account of shamanistic initiation as well as an appreciative overview of Peruvian shamanism, but conveyed in a deeply personal way. An engaging read for anyone interested in Analytical Psychology, shamanism, and embodied transformative experience.

This marvelous book, Lessons of the Inca Shaman, Piercing the Veil, shines with personal honesty and courage. It speaks to the deep truth that many of us sense and seek. Deborah Bryon lights the path of Shamanic practice with moving personal reflections and grounds the information with specific information for the reader who wishes to begin this ancient Andean practice. It’s a rare treat to find a book like this, rich in narrative detail and, and the same time, full of anchoring Jungian insights. This is trustworthy and practical information. It soars with transformative power.

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: Lessons of the Inca Shamans: Piercing the Veil (Paperback)
I found this book to be personally very worth the read. As a shamanic practitioner, I love hearing stories of personal journeys, and this one is especially rich because of the expertise Deborah has as a Jungian therapist. Some of the shadow material that she explores is written in a disjointed way, but I do understand that it’s hard to translate subtle and non-linear experiences into a linear story. I appreciate her dedication, her depth of experience and her willingness to share it.

Tattoo Girl Says

Not long ago, tattoos have seen an increase in interest. They have persisted since back then yet you'll find that there's a distinctive love-hate correlation when it concerns tattoos. There are those that understand them as a form of beauty and a means to showcase oneself yet others affiliate a deficiency of morals as well as other unpleasant qualities to those people who have tattoos. Disregarding their proclivity, we all know that tattoos have actually been enduring and will even carry on doing so for many years to come. At this point, you'll notice generally more people who sport a tattoo or at a minimum, deciding on getting one than in the past. Generally, the appeal that tattoos provide is a lot more appreciated by young adults and acquiring a tattoo that is quite competently designed would surely add on to it.

Unfortunately, a different way of regarding tattoos is really one which may cast them in a negative light. This acknowledges tattoos, most notably outlandish kinds, as a detail that reduces somebody's degree of professionalism especially in the work place. In such a case, possessing an exposed tattoo may possibly damage the chances of you securing a stable career. Naturally, this will depend on the manager's view on tattoos. A person who has any kind of tattoos inside of the confines of the office suit she or he is dressing up in is not going to encounter much problems as it is not apparent to other people in plain sight. Hence, tattoo placement is still quite essential nowadays and individuals who do not comply with these unmentioned standards might lose out. Tattoos in intimate regions are typically more sought for since they may be visible only by the people close towards the wearer.

When getting a tattoo, a specific thing that needs adequate advanced planning is your tattoo designs. Heart-felt text and symbolic artistic renditions are still the most prevalent types of tattoo designs simply because they hold their own even in 50 years. When you choose tattoo designs which offers ambiguous interpretations to the observer, you could potentially match them to whatever you are experiencing at the moment. "Cliched" designs should generally be steered clear of as they quite simply will likely not stand the test of time. Adding to that, you will be better off not getting tattoos which demonstrates very sensitive or taboo matters if you plan to stay away from complications.

A tasteful tattoo is usually elegant, fulfilling and great to admire whereas an inferior work could easily turn you into a small kid's artwork; not quite half decent but your nearest and dearest might just simply say otherwise. For this reason, much like any other thing that we do, groundwork is very important. You should never make purchasing a tattoo an impulsive decision. Do spend some time and seek information or recommendations to help you in your selection. If you give it your all, the result will be fruitful.
